Narrative Storytelling Unit — Foundation-Year 2 English
Help Foundation–Year 2 students understand how narratives work and use that knowledge to tell and write their own stories. This cohesive English unit explicitly teaches characters, settings, beginning-middle-end structure, problems, events and solutions, then develops descriptive language, prediction, retelling, planning, composing and editing.
The sequence includes whole-class teaching, differentiated individual practice, oral storytelling activities, a dice game and an independent assessment. Every example is original and book-independent, making the resource flexible across different class texts and teaching programs.
