Learning focus
Study named examples from Brian Robinson and Maree Clarke through teacher-prepared Australian National Maritime Museum and NGV links. Distinguish a visible feature, a supported source fact and a possible interpretation. Compare media and continuing contemporary practice. Test line, colour, space or materials to communicate an original care-for-place message. Explain the effect of a choice and distinguish attribution from permission.
The source cards also identify the particular Gunditjmara context of Budj Bim, attributed to UNESCO. Named artists and places are particular examples, not representatives of every First Nations culture.
Teacher benefits
Separate editable lesson files allow flexible lesson preparation. Linked source facts and interpretation prompts support evidence-based discussion. Practical trials, original making and a concise conference provide several ways to show learning. Optional sharing follows completed core assessment.
