Art Lives Here supports Years 1–2 learners to connect an artwork with its context, audience and possible purpose. Named museum sources introduce thoughtful looking and evidence-based explanations. Safe card-printing and torn-paper collage trials lead to an original artwork based on learners’ own school observations or imagined places.
The unit contains ten complete separate editable lesson presentations. Lessons 1–8 form the core sequence; Lessons 9–10 are optional reinforcement and do not carry essential assessment. Each lesson is planned for 60 minutes: 5 minutes looking/recall, 10 minutes demonstration/context, 30 minutes making/application, 10 minutes reflection and 5 minutes cleanup.
