Children listen to complete short chants about walking, playing, weather and packing up. They hear how a word or line comes back, use a caller's question to recognise their turn, compare spoken pace, and choose rhyming endings that also make sense. The sequence finishes with children planning and rehearsing a connected four-line group chant.

The one-page teacher quick-start and five full lesson plans explain preparation, modelling, guided and individual practice, response keys, support, extension and the next teaching decision. Teachers read the texts and instructions aloud. Children can speak, point, draw, use pictures or a device, or have an adult record their words.

Learning focus

Notice repeated words and returning lines; hear different rhyming endings; join at an appropriate spoken cue; maintain comfortable delivery; create or explain a meaningful language pattern.

Classroom use

Five lessons of approximately 35–45 minutes, with shared oral-language teaching, small-group games and individual evidence. Read all instructions aloud. Cards require cutting; groups need counters and a die. No recorded audio is included or required. Quiz question 7 uses live teacher delivery described in the lesson plan.

Teacher benefits

Complete chant models keep patterns connected to meaning. Whole-text reading and picture/role cues support children who are still developing reading skills. Game prompts include genuine spoken practice. Fresh-text assessment and individual records help teachers distinguish group performance from each child's learning.

Digital product and licence

Digital teaching resource; no physical product or recorded audio is supplied. A PDF reader and PowerPoint-compatible software are required. Follow the licence terms supplied with the purchase; do not share the files through public download sites.
