Full Description

Structure and Language Features of Informative Texts gives Year 5 teachers a coherent week of instruction and practice aligned to Australian Curriculum v9.0. The sequence starts with purpose and audience, then teaches introductions, grouped body sections and conclusions; headings, navigation and visual features; specialist vocabulary, expanded noun groups and precise verbs; connectives, reference and cohesion; and the plan–draft–edit–publish process.

Students learn through a native editable presentation, a question-and-answer quiz, colourful card sorts and games, model-text analysis, scaffolded worksheets, open drafting tasks and a two-part museum-panel assessment. Australian animal and environment contexts keep the factual reading purposeful. Six answer pages reproduce the matching worksheet design and show answers in red where students write.
