Visualising Comprehension — Foundation
Visualising Comprehension — Foundation helps young learners turn spoken and written language into a clear picture in the mind. This week-long unit teaches a simple routine: listen or read, find the text clues, add sensible prior knowledge, use the five senses and update the picture when a new clue arrives.
The unit combines explicit teacher modelling with guided listening, collaborative clue games, drawing and matching practice, partner discussion and independent assessment. Colour display, reference, activity and game pages make the strategy concrete for young learners. Low-ink worksheets, answer pages, assessment tasks and a rubric provide practical evidence of understanding.
