Types of Texts - Year 1 gives young readers a practical introduction to fiction, non-fiction, opinion, fact and opinion, and the purpose of familiar texts.

The editable teaching presentation models the key ideas in clear language, then students apply them through a colourful classroom display and sorting mat, a 24-card text sort, the Text Type Trail board game, three closed-response worksheet sets, three open-response or application pages and a two-page assessment.
