Technical Words We Can Work Out - Year 6
Teach students to say a technical word, map graphemes to sounds, blend the complete word and confirm its meaning in a factual sentence. The lessons move from teacher modelling through guided practice and a partner game to independent reading, dictation and explanation. Roots support meaning, while the core evidence remains accurate sound–spelling analysis.
