A complete Year 6 English unit for expressive reading, collaborative rehearsal, script writing and Readers’ Theatre performance.

Full Description

Develop fluent, confident and audience-aware readers through a complete Readers’ Theatre teaching sequence. Students learn how scripts are structured, annotate for phrasing and expression, build believable character voices, use narration effectively and rehearse as an ensemble.

The unit moves from explicit instruction to supported practice and authentic performance. Three original scripts provide contrasting group structures and performance demands. Students also analyse roles, adapt prose to script, write an original scene, plan rehearsals, exchange evidence-based feedback and complete a performance portfolio with a five-level rubric.
