Plan a connected sequence about identity, change and respectful support. The unit develops reasoning through worked examples, discussion, a case-based game, learning records and a portfolio conference.

Learning focus
Explain interacting identity influences.
Evaluate credible, suitable information and its limits.
Analyse gender-role assumptions and justify a fair alternative.
Adapt a supported next step when conditions change.
Classroom use
Teach eight core lessons of approximately 50 minutes. Core teaching and assessment finish within Lessons 1–8; Lessons 9–10 offer useful optional practice. Each lesson has its own presentation, clear teaching sequence, resources, response choices and evidence to collect.
Students explain identity influences, evaluate health information and support, and challenge gender-role assumptions using fictional cases. Puberty teaching uses factual language about varied development, body and emotional changes, menstruation, involuntary erections and wet dreams, everyday care and private help-seeking. Healthdirect Australia and The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne are credited where their information supports teaching.
No personal body, family or health disclosure is required. Students can respond through speech, drawing, writing, dictation, supported choices or a communication board/device. Teachers can use private conferences while keeping the same learning expectation.
Assessment combines a fictional portfolio and conference, source evaluation, a justified fair-role alternative and a safe general help request. The quiz provides an additional knowledge check. Matched learning-record answers give sample reasoning; valid alternatives are accepted.
Teacher benefits
Timed teaching sequence and complete teacher guidance.
Separate editable presentation for each planned lesson.
Flexible response choices and private participation.
Core assessment completed before optional extension lessons.
Digital resource
