Poem Sounds on Stage - Foundation
Help children hear a whole poem, notice a sound or returning part and accurately copy a teacher model with an agreed voice, action or pause cue. Poem Sounds on Stage gives Foundation teachers a complete sequence from whole-poem listening to supported practice, partner rehearsal and fresh-model assessment.
The four original poems are Little Red Boat, Rain on the Ground, Busy Bees and Moonlight Glow. Children explore rhyming endings, the returning “Drip, drop, drip” and “buzz” phrases, and the whole returning Moonlight line. Explicit examples keep phrases and full-line refrains distinct. Optional beginning-sound noticing and oral composition extend the unit after its core learning.
