Readers keep complete words accurate, group words by grammar and meaning, use punctuation as a cue rather than a pause after every word, and explain one phrasing choice. Five lessons move from comparison and temporary phrase marks to partner rehearsal and an independent fresh-text read.

Classroom use

Use the display and original garden/water-tank passages for modelling, the three practice stages for fading support, and the partner cards for explained rehearsal. The final Seed swap passage supports teacher observation of connected reading, meaningful grouping, a meaning response and a self-correction if one occurs.
