Guide students from a clear claim to a developed, fair and feasible spoken proposal. The fictional lunchtime case asks them to compare two activities using a budget, a helper timetable, places per time slot and a class poll. They learn to connect accurate facts to reasons, respond respectfully to an alternative and explain the limits of their evidence.

Across five 55-minute lessons, students create useful visual panels, choose pitch, tone, pace and volume for listeners, set a rehearsal goal and use real feedback to revise. A new After-Lunch case provides independent transfer. Students deliver their own presentation, while the teacher records argument, voice, visual/digital features and improvement.

What's included

  • 59-page A4 Unit Plan PDF: contents page, one teacher quick-start page, ten lesson-plan pages and 47 resource pages.
  • Eight colour display/facts/model pages.
  • Nine differentiated practice worksheets: Support, Core and Extension for each of three practice stages.
  • Nine matching red-answer editions, immediately after their worksheets.
  • Two practical colour activities across seven pages.
  • Twelve assessment pages: fresh facts/task, argument planning, three-panel planning, rehearsal/feedback/reflection, two teacher observation sheets, two model proposals and marking guidance.
  • Two-page rubric, with four criteria and four levels per criterion.
  • Editable 30-slide teaching presentation PPTX, including a native class-poll chart and three editable panel templates.
  • Editable 22-slide quiz PPTX with ten questions, ten answer/explanation slides, cover and closing slide.
  • Full 111-page Preview PDF and one separate Table of Contents JPEG.

Learning focus

  • Develop a coherent request with two accurate facts elaborated into reasons.
  • Consider a genuine alternative and give a reasoned response.
  • Explain a useful topic word and acknowledge the evidence's limits.
  • Link three meaningful panels to the spoken proposal.
  • Make purposeful pitch, tone, pace and volume choices.
  • Demonstrate deliberate editable digital features and a useful sequence.
  • Set a goal, rehearse twice with feedback, revise and deliver an individual talk.

Classroom use

Five 55-minute lessons. Allow approximately 90 seconds per individual talk; the observation windows accommodate about 30 students, with extra time scheduled for larger classes, longer talks or access needs. Provide read-aloud facts, enlarged copies, prompts, paired rehearsal, a small audience and supported speech as useful. Assess decisions and listener understanding rather than eye contact, confidence, accent or natural voice quality.

Paper panels demonstrate planning, not actual digital delivery. Use a school-approved offline presentation app or student-directed projected native panels with teacher-operated controls. Arrange an individual digital-feature demonstration if needed and record actual modality and further evidence. No student accounts or online research are required. Cases are fictional and tokens are pretend planning units.

The rubric accepts valid different positions and purposeful supported communication.
