Messages We Can Read - Foundation English Unit Plan
Messages We Can Read develops Foundation learners' ability to read and respond to authentic everyday messages. Children work with SIT, STOP, TAP, BIN and PUT IT IN while learning to track and blend the complete print, carry out or identify the message, and explain the print detail that confirmed meaning. The sequence directly addresses picture guessing by teaching children to use illustrations and colour only after reading.
