Modifications

This Foundation Inferential Comprehension unit helps students use text clues, picture clues and prior knowledge to work out what a text does not say directly. Students practise making simple inferences about feelings, places, people, events and reasons, then explain their thinking with clear sentence frames such as “I think ... because ...”

It is designed for Foundation English lessons focused on early reading and listening comprehension, oral discussion, picture clues, short written responses and explaining thinking from evidence.
