CVCC Words Year 1 Phonics Unit

Teach CVCC words through a consistent say, tap, map, blend and read routine. This Year 1 digital unit combines an editable teaching presentation, colour activities and games, black-and-white worksheets, assessment pages, a marking rubric and an editable 10-question quiz.

Students work with familiar four-sound words such as tent, hand, milk, jump, nest, lamp and gift. They identify each phoneme, map one sound in each box, blend the sounds and read the whole word. The sequence also shows how common letter teams can represent one sound in four-phoneme words such as lunch and point.
