Body Autonomy and Safety Networks - Year 2
Help Year 2 learners ask about a specific action, communicate choices, respect a changed answer, distinguish taking from sharing an image, and seek safe support from trusted adults. This Health unit uses original fictional examples, paper mock screens, cards and optional puppets.
Students practise explaining the case detail behind a safe decision. Teachers model the strategy, guide rehearsal, offer feedback and collect evidence through new assessment cases and a short conference. All essential teaching and assessment are complete within the eight core lessons. Optional Lessons 9–10 extend clarification and fictional safety-network planning.
Flexible response choices include speaking, drawing, pointing, gestures, selected pictures, a communication board or device, and dictation. The teacher guide separates communication support from achievement and provides response anchors and next teaching steps.
The activities use fictional situations only. They do not require personal stories, real photographs, accounts, harmful messages, body-touch practice or dangerous enactment. Children are not responsible for resolving unsafe behaviour; appropriate adults must act. Teachers follow their school safeguarding procedures if a concern arises.
