Asking Questions Comprehension - Year 2

Help Year 2 students become active, thoughtful readers with a complete comprehension unit focused on asking purposeful questions before, during and after reading.

Students learn to use title, picture, word and detail clues; make and revise predictions; monitor whether questions are answered; distinguish thin and thick questions; and support answers with relevant text evidence. Classroom Use

Designed for approximately five 45–60 minute lessons. Use it for whole-class literacy, guided reading, rotations, partner work, independent practice, intervention, homework or assessment. The reusable game and task cards work with any suitable class text.

Six red-answer pages are included for objective and modelled responses; open-ended logs and reflections intentionally accept varied answers.
