Articles Unit of Work – Year 4
Help Year 4 students make accurate, meaningful article choices with a complete teaching sequence built around spoken sound and sentence context.
The unit teaches students to identify articles, choose a or an from the next spoken sound, use the for specific or shared reference, follow first mention with later reference, and recognise selected general plural and proper-name contexts that take no article. Explicit examples address common sound exceptions, including a unicorn, a one-off event, an hour and an honest reply.
