All About the Year is a ready-to-teach week of Year 2 calendar learning. Students order and classify months, connect them with Southern Hemisphere seasons, compare month lengths, distinguish regular and leap years, read dates and events on calendars, and count days between events within and across month boundaries.

The editable PowerPoint presentation supports explicit teaching and guided practice. The quiz provides 10 question-and-answer pairs for review. Two classroom displays, the Month and Season Trail board game and 18 Calendar Quest Cards give students multiple ways to rehearse the ideas. Five worksheet sequences provide nine student pages with matching red-answer pages, followed by a two-page Community Calendar Challenge assessment, two assessment answer pages and a six-criterion rubric.

The unit suits a five-lesson sequence and can also be used flexibly for small-group instruction, independent practice, homework, revision or assessment. It uses Australian spelling and Southern Hemisphere season conventions.
