Welcome Garden — Foundation Design and Technologies
In A Welcome Garden, students connect a designed environment, a made product and a helpful service. They compare layouts, explain a choice, follow safe making steps and use a care-route test to decide what needs changing.
Ten separate editable lesson presentations support eight core lessons and two optional extensions. The complete core route uses a dry tray model with large plant-model pieces and card paths. Live planting is optional and needs school approval; no unobserved plant-growth claim is assessed. Essential individual evidence is complete by Lesson 8, without a mandatory exhibition or optional-lesson requirement.
The teacher guide and lesson plans provide timings, preparation, explicit models, practical tasks, evidence checks, next steps and safety guidance. Students can communicate through drawing, pointing, speech, dictated words, demonstration or communication tools. Group work is supported while each student's own design and practical contribution is recorded.

Learning focus
Plan an environment for a user's care needs; communicate and compare ideas; make safely; test access; explain a relevant improvement. Allow about 60 minutes for each of eight core lessons, with two optional 60-minute extensions. Clean shallow trays, large model pieces, wide card paths and school-approved joining materials are sufficient for the complete dry-model route.
Formats and answers
17 files: 11 editable PPTX, two PDF, three TXT and one JPG.
Unit Plan: 42 pages. Ten lesson decks: 100 slides in total. Quiz: 24 slides. Combined Preview: 166 pages, in Unit Plan → Lessons 1–10 → Quiz order. The Preview repeats the included content and is watermarked after its clean first page.
Answers
Ten matched possible-answer pages provide examples rather than compulsory identical designs. Card guidance and quiz explanations are included. Assessment/observation areas stay blank for actual student evidence. A quiz response alone does not prove safe making.
