Read the Page, Follow the Print - Foundation
Help Foundation learners find where English print begins, follow whole words from left to right, return to the next line, and locate words and pictures on a page or simple screen. Garden and picnic examples give children short, familiar texts to explore while the teacher reads aloud.
The five lessons move from finding titles and first story words to one-line tracking, next-line returns, page and screen layouts, and a fresh picnic assessment. Children can respond through pointing, speech, AAC, drawing or teacher scribing. The assessment records print-path understanding and the support used; it does not score decoding, speed or handwriting.
