Plan Events and Compare Calendar Days - Year 2
Use full dates, weekdays and daily moves to make a calendar plan that can be checked. Students solve four fictional school-event clues in the Class Calendar Studio, compare waits, then diagnose wrong records in the Schedule Repair Clinic. Fresh April and May tasks provide evidence of application beyond the taught examples.
The supplied sources cover October-December 2027 and January-May 2028. They show real Gregorian dates, including 29 February 2028, with six Monday-first rows and full weekday names. All classroom event examples are fictional. Start-zero counting includes weekends, same-day intervals, week hops and month/year changes.

Learning focus
Identify a full date and weekday; count elapsed days from zero; compare intervals; plan seven or fourteen days before/after; retain month/year information; verify and explain a date plan or correction.
Classroom use
Five 45-minute lessons for Year 2. Select from the practice pool to match the lesson and student need. Print at actual size (100%), including the smaller marker artwork, and let an adult prepare complete cut envelopes. A practical set serves two or three students with rotating roles and reset instructions. Ordinary pencils and adult-prepared scissors are the only extra core materials. Use the editable marker slide in teacher-controlled edit view; students can point or direct an adult movement.
Read/record access, a clearly identified small date window, pointing, moving, drawing, speech or a communication device can support responses. Keep the mathematical decision with the student. Record access separately from mathematical prompts. Extension uses verified new clues, reverse hops or alternative plans with explanation.
Teacher benefits
All core calendar sources and kit materials are included. The lesson sequence moves from taught examples to fresh calendar decisions. Adjacent answers support checking, while observations and the rubric identify useful next teaching steps. Adult reading/recording and communication choices retain the same mathematical goal.
