Picture It in Poetry and Prose - Year 3
Picture It in Poetry and Prose - Year 3 is a five-lesson English unit about how imagery, rhythm and sound words help readers imagine a place and react to a text. Children discuss original nature poems and prose, choose exact clues, compare supported interpretations and explain deliberate choices in their own writing.
The sequence moves from modelling and guided discussion to a partner evidence game, drafting and revision, then independent responses to an unseen poem and prose passage. Rhythm is distinguished from rhyme. A fixed syllable count and artistic drawing are not assessment requirements.
