Listen, Note and Get It Done - Year 4
Listen, Note and Get It Done builds a practical listening routine: listen for the job, note what matters, ask a focused question, act on the information and check the result. Students explore familiar classroom tasks, compare useful and incomplete notes, respond to an updated instruction and practise through the cooperative Mission Desk game.
Teacher modelling and guided practice lead to an independent live listening task. Choose the Gallery or Museum assessment; both involve notes, a missing corner detail, a purposeful question and a finished card. The supplied grid and rubric assess key information, usable notes, clarification and accurate execution/checking. The quiz reviews concepts and does not replace live listening evidence.

Learning focus
Identify information that changes the task; separate background details; record short usable notes; ask an answerable clarification question; retain unchanged information during an update; carry out and check instructions.
Classroom use
Five lessons with a 45-minute core and optional 15-minute extension. Use the presentation for explicit teaching, the scripts for listening practice, the worksheets for evidence and the game for transfer. Learners may hear a script twice and use the supports they normally need. Select one live assessment alternative; assess listening rather than memory, handwriting, eye contact, posture or art skill.
