Information Reports - Year 6 gives teachers a coherent sequence for moving students from text analysis to independent expository writing. Students examine how purpose, audience, structure, language and visuals work together; distinguish verifiable facts from viewpoints; refine searches; evaluate source credibility; paraphrase notes ethically; organise evidence; and revise, edit and publish for a defined audience.
Original model texts and source scenarios provide substantive material to analyse, while the Topic Compass, Research Register, Perfect Paragraph Builder and Information Report Road Map support gradual release towards independent writing.

Classroom Use
Use the presentation for explicit instruction and modelling, then select the aligned display, activity or worksheet for guided and independent practice. A typical sequence is five 50–60 minute lessons, followed by the three-page assessment or an extended writing cycle. The quiz works as a pre-assessment, review or post-assessment.
