Classroom use

Read both accounts together, distinguish a reported observation from a guess about its cause, and support responses through drawing, oral language, a scribe, a partner or adult help. Extend with precise explanations, coherent paragraphs, justified proposals, equal quantities, consistent units and mathematical reasoning.

This pack supports selected English and mathematics skills for Years 5–6. It is a flexible activity collection rather than a complete curriculum program. Students may choose another calm theme, keep work private or pass on optional sharing and display.

Use ordinary paper or thin card, pencils, a ruler, scissors and glue or tape. An adult supports cutting and handles the dial’s small centre holes. The dial may use a loose paper fastener or a pointer positioned by hand. Keep the envelope pocket open and check the display’s three lower edges. No costumes, sweets, food handling, flames, lights, purchases or family disclosures are required.
