Foundation Pre-Writing Skills Unit
Help Foundation students build the controlled movements that support early drawing and handwriting. This classroom-ready English unit explicitly teaches comfortable body and paper position, a functional three-finger grip, start dots, arrows, light pencil pressure and the smooth formation of common pre-writing strokes.
Students follow a consistent Ready, Start, Slide routine while learning standing, sleeping, slant, zigzag, curved, wavy, looped and spiral line families. Two colourful references and two reusable activities support guided practice before students apply their skills in five black-and-white worksheets and a two-page independent assessment. Red model-answer pages and a five-level rubric make review and assessment straightforward.
