Explore diversity, named sources and continuing connections to Country/Place through a Year 4 HASS inquiry. Students distinguish Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, recognise diversity within both, investigate Gunditjmara/Budj Bim and the Yawuru/Broome context, and use the Australian National Maritime Museum's attributed Brian Robinson example without treating one person as everyone's voice.
Ten planned 60-minute lessons have ten separate editable nine-slide presentations. A reviewed eight-session route combines lessons 1-2 and 9-10 through selected slides and integrated tasks, retaining the same essential learning and assessment by session 8. Students build a portfolio, compare sources, explain continuity and change, propose a respectful action and revise a fictional generic caption.
The Yawuru calendar and real artist work are teacher viewing links, not reproduced assets. Teacher access to the public Yawuru source supports that named source study. Original observation records and explanatory illustrations remain clearly distinguished from community knowledge, site photographs and measured plans. Local Country/Place attribution is left for teachers to verify; no local identity or cultural authority is invented.
