Every Sound Has a Place - Foundation

$4.99

Every Sound Has a Place develops Foundation learners' ability to represent the complete sound sequence in an orally known word. Children say and stretch a word, locate its beginning, middle and ending phonemes, choose a taught or plausible grapheme for every sound, reread the attempt and repair one specific omission.

The sequence uses the cumulative word bank sat, sip, map, ten, dog, cup, sun, lip, red, pot, mud and ship. The grapheme sh is explicitly modelled before use. Children progress from worked sound-position models and missing-sound decisions to independent word building, two-word labels and a fresh assessment. Plausible early spelling remains useful evidence; untaught conventional spelling is not treated as the target.
