Design a Package that Folds — Year 5 Mathematics

Students design a package for a fictional 6 × 4 × 3 cm object. They allow modest clearance, identify three matching pairs of faces, draw a six-face net, construct a model and revise it using observed evidence from a fit or closure test. The sequence supports explicit modelling, guided decisions, independent work and a practical final assessment.
