Dealing with Data — Year 3 Unit
Dealing with Data gives Year 3 students a practical, carefully sequenced introduction to data investigations. Explicit teaching builds understanding of numerical, categorical and descriptive data before students form clear questions, collect responses fairly, organise results with grouped tallies and frequency tables, select suitable displays and interpret what the evidence shows.
Colour posters, survey activities and games make the ideas visible and interactive. Low-ink worksheets provide structured practice, while matching red-answer pages make checking efficient. A new lunchtime-club investigation assesses planning, organisation, representation and reasoning, followed by a five-level rubric for consistent feedback.
