Help learners turn unclear proposals and broad claims into questions they can investigate. Students ask for missing meaning or information, use the reply, paraphrase and confirm important conditions, test an assumption or evidence limit, and explain a revised understanding.
The sequence moves from three complete teaching models to support, core and extension practice. An information-gap workshop provides six original fictional contexts, eighteen inquiry goals, rotating roles, six mats and full respondent/checking banks. A separate poster-proofreading task supports transfer before a fresh assessment in which every learner makes an active responsive contribution.
Five 55-minute lesson plans and a one-page teacher quick-start guide preparation, modelling, guided work, independent practice and feedback. The timings are guides: use further workshop goals across repeated practice and complete remaining individual observations in another short session before making an attainment judgement.

Learning focus
Purposeful precise/open questions; clarifying uncertain terms; faithful paraphrase and confirmation; preserving conditions; assumptions; evidence scope and sufficiency; respectful audience-suitable wording; explaining what changed and remains unknown.
Classroom use
Teach the sequence with supplied fictional cards, pencils and optional highlighters. Groups of three or four rotate questioner, respondent, listener and checker. Keep respondent facts and answer banks hidden until the questioner's record is complete. Each learner records their own question, actual reply, paraphrase and effect on the proposal.
Offer thinking time, teacher reading, rehearsal, written/pointed question messages, communication boards or a scribe. Learners select questions and interpret answers themselves. Judge actual responsive reasoning using observation and the individual record. The quiz, peer feedback and a prepared monologue cannot independently establish attainment.
Formats
Editable teaching and quiz PPTX; Unit Plan/resource PDF; watermarked preview PDF; Table of Contents JPEG. Printable student pages are not editable.
Answers
Fourteen red model answer copies immediately follow their matching student/record pages. Full model exchanges and workshop checking banks are also included. Quiz answers are separate native PowerPoint slides. Relevant alternative inquiry wording is accepted when it preserves the facts.
Teacher benefits
Ready-to-use source facts, model exchanges and checking banks reduce preparation. Three practice levels retain meaningful reasoning. Individual observation plus a fully written rubric supports specific feedback. Fictional contexts require no external books, real interviews, recordings, outings, purchases or practical tool use.
Digital product and licence
Digital download; no physical product. All scenario dates, data and comments are original fictional classroom material. For the purchasing educator's classroom use; do not redistribute, resell or share the files. The teaching presentation and quiz are editable.
